Must be a very exciting day for some scientists and astronomers, as they have discovered the “biggest star” ever seen from planet Earth.

It claims to be 10 million times brighter than the sun! Not only that but it is also the heaviest star ever found, and with the mass that is roughly 265 times more than the sun. That makes us realise how tiny our sun is compare to others, that’s like a bowling ball compared to a golf ball or something close. Well I’ll let you do the math on that one.

The team of astronomers led by Paul Crowther, professor of astrophysics, studied several of the stars that had a remarkable surface temperatures of 40,000 degrees. That’s around seven times hotter than our sun! Auch, that’s too hot to handle for our little planet Earth.

But no worries, since that gigantic sun resides in from another galaxy named the Large Magellanic Cloud. That’s like more than 165,000 light years away from our Milky Way galaxy. That being said, also means that it is not even visible to the naked eye, nor whatever telescope you have on your rooftop.

So what kind of telescope does Scientists and Astronomers uses this days? you may ask. Well, is called The Hubble Space Telescope. The sophisticated infrared equipment telescope is considered the world’s biggest eye on the sky! With the length size of a schoolbus and 8 meters (26 feet) in diameter(Thousand times larger than a normal telescope), making it the Largest telescope in the world. In Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, she insists upon a daily ritual called “Morning Pages.”

I’ve been doing them for the past year.

AND I PROMISE YOU: it’s the greatest thing I’ve ever done for my writing career.

Ever.

Here’s how they work:

1. First thing in the morning (even before checking email!) open a blank document, either on paper or on your computer.

2. Spew out every single thought and/or idea that’s running through your mind. Dreams, worries, fears, annoyances, ideas, what you did the day before, everything. (Most of it will be negative. Don’t worry about that.)

3. Keep writing until you’ve filled up three pages. You simply show up and write, “This is how I feel.”

4. When you’re done, don’t even read it. Just save it in a folder called “Morning Pages.”

5. Then, get on with your day’s work.

That’s pretty much it.

That’s the best thing I’ve ever done for my writing career.

Is he ever going to propose? Do you ask that question about your boyfriend all the time? For some women it seems that they’re waiting endlessly for a question that may never come. It’s beyond frustrating when you’re faced with this. While all your friends are sporting engagement rings and planning their weddings, you’re still sitting patiently waiting for your man to pop the question. You’re tired of it right? So get to work changing it. You already have the drive to make it happen. Now all you need is some insight and clever planning.

That approach involves giving him an ultimatum. You tell him that he’s got two choices. He can either ask you to marry him or you’ll break up with him. This is drastic and in essence it’s like flipping a coin. On one hand he may see the light and run out to buy a ring that day. Or he may resent the fact that you’re pushing him so hard so he’ll walk away never to return.

The best way to get your guy to pop the question is to pull back just a hair. This is subtle and easy to do once you understand the right technique. Instead of always being there waiting for him, start living your life more as a single woman. Go out with your girlfriends more and even plan a weekend getaway with them. Don’t accept his invitations to hang out as often as you used to and when he calls don’t always answer right away. Take your time to call him back. It won’t take but a day or two for him to sense the shift in your attitude and he’ll worry. He’ll immediately become concerned that you’re having second thoughts about him. That should be enough to make him want to put a ring on your finger to ensure you really will be his forever.

There are specific things that any woman can say and do that will make her man want to commit to her. If you believe that he is the man you are destined to be with there are things you can do right now that will make him feel exactly the same way about you.

You don’t have to wait for him to decide whether or not he’s ready to commit to you. If you are tired of putting your dreams on hold because he’s commitment phobic, there are things you can do to make him want to marry you now. Learn right now what you need to do to make him fall to his knees and beg you to marry him.

Have you ever tried to chase a blue smurf? They are fast, sneaky and funny, and always in trouble.

Far, far away, in a little mushroom village, live a group of little blue pixies in short trousers and white bonnets called the Smurfs. Only as tall as three apples, they speak in “Smurf”, a language that only they understand. The Smurfs are carefree, peaceful creatures that live in harmony with nature. But they have a nasty habit of wanting to act like man, which causes them 1,001 problems.

Some how Papa Smurf made it over to our hospital, and was running up and down the halls. The 6′2 young man who spotted him thought he was so funny and laughed a deep belly laugh most of the evening.

He came up to one of the nurses and said

“Do you see Papa Smurf? He is hiding behind you”

She replied, “No I don’t see him”

Young man stated “Be careful don’t move he is right behind you”

The nurse said, “Ok” and took a step backwards.

The young man had a shocked looked on his face “You stepped on him! You killed him!”

He dropped his head and walked down the hall.

Was there a smurf? We did not see him – this mentally ill young man did. It was very real to him and he wanted to share papa smurf with the staff.

How does a mental health nurse chase blue papa smurfs and present reality at the same time for good care to that client?

Does Nursing Theory Adequately Prepare Psychiatric Nurses to Work with Delusional Patients?

Anyone in mental health care knows you have to be careful how you find humor in a clients delusional sights – however there are times when you can folow along with them until you reach a point that you can redirect them that papa smurf is only a delusion. This young mans comment was “Yes I know.”

It takes trust for a client to bring to the staffs attention about his own delusions and for them to describe to you what Papa Smurf has on and what he is saying and doing. Most people will deny they see or hear things. For the nurse or staff to get a client to trust you enough to share with you the things the voices are saying and what the delusions are doing is a break through in their care.

The nursing theory of mental health nurses is is present reality to these clients and redirect them to the here and now. As a new nurse or a new nurse in this field it is easy to go by the book and present reality. However, to someone who is standing and looking at the blue smurf behind your right leg laughing at them – that is their reality. A nurse/staff can talk with them about their delusion. Let them tell you about it – in details if they will. They open up to you and feel like they can actually talk about what is going on with them. Once they have been reminded that it is not real – they will still come back to you and tell you about their stories even though they know it is just not real.

A mental health nurse has to be able to play with the smurfs, the demons and stay in focus for the real life too.

The joking should be done with the intention of establishing rapport or being supportive or therapeutic in some way. It should never be mean-spirited. And, the patient should not be very upset or in an overly-serious mood. I believe it’s easiest and most appropriate to joke with patients with whom we already have established some degree of therapeutic alliance.

The next time you see a blue smurf hiding behind the chair, be careful not to step on them – they are sticky on the bottom of your shoe. It is just a delusion but sometimes – you just have to smile and wave at Papa Smurf.

So many people ask this question that I wanted to talk about it. Many of my friends and clients have been single for what seems like an eternity.

The Saints are one of only five teams that have never been to the Super Bowl the teams are as follows.

- Detroit Lions (Won 4 NFL championships and went to the NFC Championship in 1991)

Some say it has been because of a curse, others say because of the fact that they have never had all the right players at the same time, but I say that they have just never had a good enough team.

Now that the Saints has what is considered to be the best roster in the team’s long history what will happen now? What will the excuse be if they do not make it to a Super Bowl this year? Honestly there will be no excuse, it is now or never for the Saints so it had better be now!
